The former site of Longgang Anti-Japanese Military and Political University No. 8, known as "Anti-Japanese Military and Political University No. 8" (shortened to "Anti-Japanese University No. 8"), is the location where the university was established in 1941 by the Fourth Division of the New Fourth Army in the Anhui-Western Base Area. As an important military and political education base during the war of resistance against Japan, Anti-Japanese University No. 8 was responsible for training anti-Japanese military and political cadres, with over a thousand students trained, providing a large number of backbone forces for the New Fourth Army and revolutionary armed forces in the Central China region.

The existing buildings are in the typical style of Anhui-Western folk architecture, mainly constructed with brick and wood, with green tiles on the roofs, and a regular courtyard layout. The main buildings include classrooms, offices, dormitories, and auditoriums, all built against the mountains, displaying simplicity and solemnity. Some walls still retain hand-written slogans and revolutionary propaganda paintings from that time, witnessing the vicissitudes of history. It was listed as a National Key Cultural Relic Protection Unit in 2006 and is an important physical carrier of red cultural heritage in Anhui-Western region.

The museum houses special exhibitions that systematically showcase the history of Anti-Japanese University No. 8, its educational system, student life, and revolutionary achievements. A monument inscribed with "The Spirit of Anti-Japanese University Shines Forever" stands in the courtyard, solemn and reverent.

Anti-Japanese University No. 8 was one of the first regular military and political universities established by the Communist Party of China in the rear areas against the enemy.
