Established in 2008 by renowned folk collector Mr. Li Zhenhua, the Chinese Folk Collection Museum is the first specialized museum in North China dedicated to folk collections. Its collection stems from over four decades of systematic gathering by three generations of the Li family, encompassing folk artifacts, traditional craft masterpieces, and modern daily relics dating back to the Ming and Qing dynasties. The museum fills a critical gap left by official institutions in preserving "folk memory."

Located in the city’s central district, the museum features a classical Qing-style timber-and-brick structure reflecting the architectural layout of northern Chinese courtyard homes, spanning approximately 3,500 square meters. The main exhibition hall is divided into three thematic sections: "Light of Objects," "Seasonal Customs and Rituals," and "Craftsmanship Through the Ages." Designed according to the traditional "front hall, rear residence" arrangement, the compound includes original site elements such as an ancient well, stone carvings, and engraved steles, creating a rich cultural ambiance.

• Ming and Qing Furniture: Includes 12 national-level cultural relics (Grade III or above), such as Huanghuali master chairs and zitan eight-immortals tables
• Folk Tools and Implements: Over a thousand items covering wedding accessories, seasonal ritual objects, and farming tools, including a Qing dynasty bridal sedan chair and New Year door god scroll paintings
• Intangible Cultural Heritage Crafts: 67 pieces of nationally recognized intangible cultural heritage works, including paper cutting, clay sculpture, embroidery, and bamboo weaving
• Republican Era Visual Records: More than 2,000 rare historical documents such as vintage photographs, postcards, and advertising signs documenting urban transformation

📌 Special Exhibit: The colorful painted plaque titled “Prayers from Ten Thousand People” from the Guangxu era of the Qing Dynasty, the museum’s treasured masterpiece, is designated as a key provincial cultural heritage site in Hebei Province.

As a vital platform for the “Folk Memory Project,” this museum is committed to preserving the cultural DNA of China’s grassroots society. In 2019, it was selected for the “National Outstanding Private Museum” list and has hosted the “Chinese Folk Culture Festival” annually for five consecutive years, actively promoting the living inheritance of traditional culture.
