Daweihé Mosque was originally constructed in the mid-Ming Dynasty, with a history spanning nearly 600 years, making it one of the earliest surviving Islamic religious buildings in southern Hebei. According to records in the Daweihé Village Chronicles and inscribed stone tablets, the mosque was built by Hui ethnic ancestors following the relocation policies enacted during the reign of the Yongle Emperor. It underwent multiple renovations during the Qing Dynasty, most notably a significant expansion during the Guangxu era, reflecting the long-standing coexistence and cultural integration between the local Hui and Manchu communities.

📐 Architectural Features
The mosque faces east, aligned with traditional Islamic prayer orientation. The main structure is built using brick and wood, blending northern Chinese residential architectural styles with distinctive Islamic decorative elements. Along the central axis stand the gatehouse, prayer hall, and minaret for moon sighting, forming a well-ordered layout. The prayer hall spans three bays, with a single-eaved gable roof adorned with glazed tiles featuring geometric patterns characteristic of Islamic art. Inside, Qing-era colored murals and stone carvings inscribed with Arabic verses from the Quran remain intact, demonstrating exceptional artistic and religious significance.

• Two inscribed steles: One dates to the 45th year of Qianlong’s reign, documenting the founding and reconstruction history of the mosque; the other, from the 29th year of Guangxu’s reign, lists donors in detail—both serve as vital physical evidence for studying local social economy and interethnic relations.
• A centuries-old locust tree within the courtyard, over 200 years old, stands with gnarled branches and is revered by villagers as a "sacred tree," where blessings are offered during Eid al-Fitr celebrations.
