During the Ming and Qing dynasties, this area served as a resting place for merchants and travelers, as well as a post station for message delivery, witnessing the commercial exchanges and cultural integration among the three provinces of Sichuan, Yunnan, and Guizhou. In the early 20th century, it was one of the sites along the Red Army's Long March, leaving behind a legacy of red memories.

The scenic area is centered around a traditional group of Sichuanese dwellings, with over 30 buildings from the Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China era, arranged according to the natural terrain. The buildings feature green tiles, white walls, carved beams, and painted rafters, embodying the typical "Chuan Nan Chuan Dou" wooden structure architectural style. The core area includes remnants such as the "Dong Family Ancestral Hall," "Shanyu Old Street," and "Ancient Post Road Stone Path," with a complete street layout that preserves the original atmosphere of urban life.

• Dong Family Ancestral Hall: Built during the Guangxu reign of the Qing Dynasty, the gate tower is inscribed with the characters "Farming and Education as the Family Legacy," which are still clearly visible.
