The Jinan Water Supply History Museum is the first specialized exhibition hall in China to systematically showcase the development history of urban water supply. It is built upon the century-old accumulation of the Jinan Water Supply Group. Its predecessor can be traced back to the "Jinan Officially Established Waterworks Company" established in 1908, one of the earliest modern water supply enterprises in China. Since the introduction of modern water supply technology from the late Qing Dynasty to the early Republic of China, Jinan has gradually established a comprehensive water supply network covering the entire city, becoming a model of important urban infrastructure in the north.
The museum is located in the original old office building of the Jinan Water Supply Group, featuring a typical industrial style from the 1950s, with red brick walls and arched window lattices, combining historical charm with practical functions. The exhibition area is approximately 600 square meters, using a "timeline + thematic exhibition" narrative structure. Through physical exhibits, graphic panels, multimedia interactions, and scene reconstructions, it systematically presents the evolution from "water source collection" to "modern water purification."
✨ Treasures of the Museum:
As an important part of the city civilization of "Spring City" Jinan, the Water Supply History Museum not only records the innovation of engineering technology but also reflects the deep context of urban governance, improvement of people's livelihood, and social progress. It witnesses the transition from "relying on the sky for water" to "safe water supply" and is a precious sample for studying the development of modern urban public utilities in China.
