According to the Pu'er Prefecture Gazetteer, since the Qianlong era, this site served as a central hub on the Tea Horse Road, bustling with merchants and travelers, and played a pivotal role in the "Tea Leaving Yunnan" trade route. During the Republic of China period, a "Jingzhen Tax Office" was established here to oversee tea taxation and transportation, bearing witness to the rise and fall of frontier trade in modern times.

🏛️ Architecture and Layout:
The scenic area is built into the mountains, covering about 2.3 hectares, with a main complex of buildings modeled after Qing-style wooden architecture. Featuring interlocking post-and-lintel construction, green tile roofs, and upturned eaves, the design reflects traditional dwellings of southern Yunnan. Key structures include:

• Cha Yuan Pavilion: Exhibits the craftsmanship and historical evolution of Pu'er tea, displaying Qing-era tea desks, bamboo tea baskets, and handwritten manuscripts from ancient texts;
• Ancient Post Road Stele Grove: Features 17 stone inscriptions dating back to the Ming and Qing dynasties, recording information on tea routes, tax systems, and folk customs; among them, the "Tea Horse Highway Stele" is designated as a provincial-level cultural heritage site;
• Ancient Post Station Gate Tower: Preserves a well-preserved Ming Dynasty gate tower site, with the inscription “Jing Tong Tianxia” (Jing Connects the World) carved above the entrance—testament to the prosperity of commerce in that era.
