The Tuánwān Ancestral Temple of the Wang Clan was originally constructed during the late Ming and early Qing dynasties, serving as a vital site for ancestral worship and clan cohesion. According to the Wang Clan Genealogy, the clan’s founding ancestor, Wang Wenhuan, fled turmoil at the end of the Yuan Dynasty and settled in this region. Over more than seven centuries, the family has flourished into a cluster of settlements centered around "Tuánwān." As the spiritual heart of the clan, the temple bears witness to the evolution of local lineage systems and cultural transmission from the Ming to Qing periods.
Facing south with its back to the mountain, the temple covers approximately 420 square meters and exemplifies a hybrid architectural style blending typical southern Anhui and eastern Hubei clan temple designs. It consists of a three-part courtyard layout with symmetrical axial planning, including a gatehouse, front hall, main hall, and rear sleeping quarters. The structure employs a post-and-lintel wooden framework, with blue bricks and gray tiles, prominent horse-head walls, intricately carved eaves, and well-preserved painted beams and rafters. The highlight is the "Two Dragons Playing with a Pearl" ceiling in the main hall, which holds exceptional artistic value. The stone plaque above the gatehouse bears the inscription “Tuánwān Wang Clan Temple” in bold regular script, added during the Republic of China era during a major renovation.

This temple serves as a rare and invaluable physical record for studying clan culture, folk beliefs, and traditional craftsmanship in eastern Hubei. It reflects the practical application of Confucian ethical principles—“ritual norms permeating rural life”—within grassroots society. Designated a Qichun County Cultural Heritage Site in 2018, it was included in the “Hubei Provincial List of Traditional Villages under Protection” in 2021.
