Historical Origins

Jing Si Hall was built by the Wang family of Longxing Village, named to reflect the principle of "respecting ancestors and remembering one’s roots." It stands as one of the better-preserved ancient ancestral halls in western Zhejiang. Having undergone multiple renovations during the Ming and Qing dynasties, it has now stood for over five centuries, witnessing the growth and development of the Wang family and the evolution of local society. It serves as a vital physical testament for studying Jiangnan clan culture and rural ethical traditions.

Architectural Features

• Designed with a "three-hall, five-bay" layout, symmetrically arranged along a central axis with strict spatial organization
• Roof features a classic combination of horse-head walls and hip roofs, with upturned eaves and soaring corners, creating a grand and imposing presence
• Exquisite wood carvings beneath the eaves depict themes from Confucian classics such as the "Twenty-Four Filial Exemplars" and "Agriculture and Scholarship Passed Down Through Generations," showcasing masterful craftsmanship
